After months of researching, designing and iterating, the first Afford Anything T-shirts hit the shelves back in 2018! (And by “shelves,” I mean “internet.”)
One hundred percent of profits from the sales of these shirts were donated to charity: water.
Every. Single. Penny. of. Profit.
(That’s exactly $5.38 per shirt, in case you’re wondering.)
My goal was for the Afford Anything community to sponsor a complete water project — like drilling a well — in one of the poorest communities on earth. The purchase of the shirts helped bring clean drinking water to people who couldn’t afford to get water from a tap.
(Because if you think about it … what a luxury! Drinking water. From a tap. Inside your home. Available 24/7. And it’s not even that expensive!)
I wanted us to raise $12,000 by the end of 2018 – enough to sponsor a specific, tangible, GPS-identifiable project.
We ended up raising much more than that – $21,978, to be exact.
Our community is amazing.
